Which?
From the June Which? magazine:
"Honda Civic from £13,207 This 3 and 5-door hatchback wouldn't look out of place in a sci-fi movie. But it's not so futuristic in the way it drives - passengers may not enjoy the firm ride, although keen drivers will like its sharp handling. Surprisingly, owners have reported some teething problems, so it might be best to wait a while before buying. Score 62%" Best buy was a VW Golf at 64%. Merc B-Class: 63% Seat Leon: 59% Astra: 58% Citroen C4 52%, Megane: 47% Peugeot 307: 46% I wonder if the Which staff look at Civinfo? Terry. |

The Which? magazine allegedly use member reports only.
I had a questionaire some time ago when I had the IS200. I think a year ago the teething statement may have been acceptable but since March 2007 they seem to have cracked it. As far as the ride goes I have to agree, it can be a bit harsh on some roads due to having rear torsion bar suspension. But, the handling improves as a result, as does the load area. Horses for courses. |

It also depends upon the tire size. The courtesy car I had recently while having a service carried out on mine had the 16 inch rims and was a noticably softer ride.

Anyone who thinks the civic is a hard ride has never driven in a Focus ST170 now that hurt my arse like a good 'un! (no rude comments please). So to me the civic on 17" is very nice, my family have all commented how much more comfortable it is too!

My wife has just got a Mini Cooper convertible. The suspension feels much more sophisticated - especially over speed bumps etc. I'm still happy with the Civ, though - especially the road-holding
