Folding mirror issue
Morning all,
I've noticed that my wing mirrors have suddenly developed an issue. The near side wing mirror has started to fold in slower then the off side and a couple of times has not folded in completely, only folding a few inches before stopping. Now the car is long out of warrenty and I could really do without having to pay Honda or my mechanic to have a look. So, any ideas? |

My drivers side is the same, it pauses not fully folded in and if I turn the ignition off and on it finishes it off! Very tedious!

Mine doesn't even finish, it just stays half folded. Sometimes when I press the fold button it does fold all the way, but not always.

I think mine has been knocked causing it to mess up! If I wind the window down and wiggle it (the mirror that is) it will close!

My wife had an HRV that done the same.
Later discovered that it was my neighbour pushing the mirror in everytime he was taking his motorbike out so he could squeeze past his car and my wifes. Dont think the motor in the mirror is designed to be pushed in manually and it must have damaged it somehow. Yes I did shout at him when I seen him doing it. |

Had the same problem, replaced mine last week and it works fine. Honda parts tried telling me that the part was not for my model.
Part number is: 76209-SMG-E01 its around £20 to £30 i think. Post #17 shows you the part. electric folding mirror fault need help with part no If you want to check to be sure, swap the black box round on the 2 mirrors. 5 minute job. Hopefully you should find the broken one swaps to the other mirror. To get the cover off, the easiest and safest way i found was to put my finger nails under the plastic join that faces the front of the car(nearest bonnet) and tug up towards the sky. and it popped off. And i expected more from you ed, there's tons of threads on here about this Last edited by snowboundzero; 3rd December 2011 at 15:59. |
