Lightbulb Strong Smell of petrol on start up

Have an 07 civic and recently noticed a strong smell of petrol when starting the car up from cold.
Was just wanting to know if any one else has had a similar issue and got any ideas what the problem could be?

Thanks in advance

Duncan

Choke? I think it has been a while since there has been a Civic with a carb.

But yes, an engine Ecu will give more fuel from cold.

Yep, there are automatic chokes on carb cars. A choke is a valve in the carb. No choke at all on a fuel injected engine.
