Clicking noise from speedo area of dashboard

My 2.2SE has developed a really annoying intermittent clicking/tapping noise from somewhere around the speedo area. It definitely sound as though it's coming from within, rather than the windscreen cowl. It sounds very much like the clicking when the indicators are on, but it's definitely worse when on bad road surfaces. Anybody got any ideas, or had a similar issue?

I had a the same sort of noise it came from the vent on the right hand side near the start button, dropped the bottom of the dash and moved it slightly and nosies has gone.

Does it go away if you push or pull the lip above the speedo ??
(mine does)

I see it the same way as when you wake up with the GFs arm over you, just shove it off & hope it stops disturbing you

I feel your pain my seat has a clicky noise and took 3 weeks to find it and solve it. Just try to diagnose by pushing different parts of the speedo. There is a how to in the wiki that shows you how to remove and replace the speedo housing that may help you stripping down

Me too. First I thought it as leaves in the vents but then realised it was a crackling noise coming from the dash around the speedo area. Anyone found a fix for this yet. I am in my third year of the warranty (59 plate) Are dash noises covered.

Not found the cause yet - some days it's worse than others, seems no logic to it at all. It's so ANNOYING!!!

mine made the same noise in the morning when it was really cold outside! but was gone in the afternoon!! checked it a while ago and the glue that holds the windscreen to the car is falling off as bits.

Remove the dash cowl around the rev counter then simply apply some double sided sticky padded tape to the areas where Honda have used some thin felt tape. Took me less than 20 minutes around 12" of tape and no more rattle

the tape packs this out making it a tighter fit plus stops the plastics rubbing and creaking.

Im having the same problems, if the double sided tape don't work it could be (for me) the km/h mph button hitting against the fascia

my solution... wedged a small piece of card inbetween the gap
