I checked the gap between centre reflector and bumper, and its pretty well touching. Can't see any sign of rubbing yet, but I will watch it very closely.

I noticed yesterday that paint is also rubbing off on the rear bumper at the top in the corner where the indicator light sits on it !!!!!

I can see the black blocks on mine but they appear to be sitting behind the bumper, the whole of the centre section is actually sitting on the bumper. No gap at all.
Good news though, no sign of rubbing on the rear. |

Hmmmm.....interesting one this.......
I've had a check of mine, and I've got to say that both sides seem very 'Flush', but are showing no signs of 'fouling' yet..... I'll keep an eye on it now though.... |

Here are some pictures of the paint rubbing off my bumbers, two at the front and one on the side at the rear again there is light movement with that panel so think that is why it doing it, but very worrying that the pain seems to just rub off!!!!!!
Excuse the dirt on the car its been raining |

This must be a major worry for Honda, if they have lots of Civics going back for re-spray of front and rear panel. They might have to modify the size of the plastic pieces causing the problem.

On both of your front photos, Topcat, it seems that the small rubber cushions are behind the top of the bumper. The side light covers though are level with the front of the bumper, almost as if the clear central section has been pushed back a few mm. Have you tried pushing the bumper down slightly in the centre to see if the centre will pull forward?

Checked mine today and they are in perfect alignment with no chaffing of the bodywork?
Are the cars with problems recent? As I speculated elsewhere, maybe they are struggling to keep up with demand and letting QC slip. |

Im not going to touch it, let Honda sort it out, as I have mentioned previously I have several scratches etc on my car that wont budge and I am seriously doubting the quality of the paintwork on the car as a whole, I am going to ask for the paint to be measured and then have their results checked independantly. The whole experience of buying the Civic for me has has been one of stress and frustration, £15,000.00 on a car that has been replaced once and still with ongoing issues and now it seems a new problem. At least im not the only one with this problem as im sure Honda would try an say it was something I had done!!
As much as I love the car I wish I had waited as it seems I have experienced almost every "teething" problem the car has had so far! |

Have also got paint missing on the rear bumber where the rear light cluster is touching the bumper, front is OK with the rubber spacers correctly positioned. Paint appear to 'rub' off too easily, I have a couple of deep scratches, down to black plastic, on the side of the rear bumper where somebody hit it with a supermarket trolley. CAn't beleive that this caused the light cluster to catch the bumper as on the opposite side of the car. Not sure if it is just the paint on the plastic sections that is not very tough.

Just checked mine today, will post a pic tomorrow (later today), I've got one on the rear driver side but seems too far away from the lights, it's right on the tip/corner, looks almost like that corner didn't get painted properly rather than rubbed off from the lights above...
