Is this a crazy theory on part of the problem? When looking at mine (see pics below) mine doesn't look close enough to the corner of the plastic for that to have caused the problem on mine, mine looks like the very tip/corner of that piece of bodywork has not been sprayed enough...
...my theory on the others you guys have posted - is it related at all to closing your bonnet/boot???!!! I watched this particular spot as my wife slammed the boot shut and you get a LOT of movement when doing this - I've not yet opened/closed by front bonnet but now wondering whether it's that nasty drop you do on the bonnet that could be what makes the close contact between plastic + bumper hit each other more??? Worth watching as you drop your lids, go on, go outside and try it a few times... |

Found another place where the paint has rubbed off on my car. On the back passenger side where the top of the boot central light strip / boot handle ends the is some missing paint. You can also see that this side of the top of this side of the light strip is much closer than the other. Had a look at it yesterday and you can see the clear plastic move slightly when you open the boot.

UPDATE! Just got back from the dealers following inspection, this is the first instance that the dealer has seen of this issue (they always are), there is nothing on the sytem in relation to the problem. They have taken photos and will send them to the warranty people at Honda to see what the recommendations are. There are 3 likely outcomes, 1. Replace bumper. 2. Remove bumper, re-paint section with damage and re-fit. 3. Ignore issue all together and blame customer.
They tried to suggest that because the fog lamp was damaged that something had hit me, moving the bumper, I pointed out the dynamics of such an incident and they agreed the bumper would move the other way. I would recommend those of you with the issue contact your dealer and get this matter to Honda, until they see it is not an isolated case I think they will not do anything. |

Well there is no way they can say its customer related, there are enough of us now with the same problem and plenty of pictures to prove it. I am going to sort mine out over next week.
I have emailed What car about the paint issue - im sick of the problems I have had with this car now. |

well i have noticed as my bumpers popped out ive got a few small marks forming and will ask them to adjust it on thursday.
however saying this i have had quite a few niggles with the car and i guess it shows when the japanese are daring they face the same issues as other manufacturers. So far however it has been worth it, to own in my oppinion the best car under 20grand on sale today and is also british made. |

Just had a call from the dealer, they are going to carry out work under warranty on the bumper. I do not know the full extent of the work, whether it is a new bumper or a repair to the existing one. Will post more when I know more.
Rear shocks being done at same time. |

Fedorov
Fedorov, no offence but your whole boot seems to be misaligned? I mean it's 0,5cm more "above" than the backlights where the paint is missing?

I have the same issue with the front bumber rubbing on the clear plastics .... funny thing is the dealer said "he never noticed it" and had never heard of it before....
they also had not heard of leaks into the boot (mine is dry thankfully) or any of the other problems that show up in here...strange that... Anyway the car is booked it to get it sorted under warranty..... Rob |

Aaaagggghhhh!!!
Dealer just called, they are bringing the car back having done the shocks, and they have sent some photos off to Honda for them to look at re the front bumper. They already did that on the 22nd August. Thats another day at home and another f**king trip to the dealer. Do they get more money if they only fix one fault at a time? |

Any faults you complained goes in the right ear ( and you think it's the "right" one ) and out goes the left. So do they really really listen ???

Was talking to the paint guy this morning, he did a couple of repairs for a car hire company last week which involved taking the bumper off, although there was no sign of wear from the front when the bumper did come off there was no paint along most of the top of it, looked like it had rubbed all along.

Honda is fitting a free new front bumper next week as the paintwork has been rubbed away by the plastic. They said my car didnt have the two rubber strips, but im sure I can see them, they're just not doing anything.
Also I scrached the other side of it near the bottom (my fault) so that will dissapear too with a whole new bumper! |
