I have those on both sides, but on one of the sides it appears that it isn't placed properly (too far inwards), so there can easily be contact with the bumper while driving on a bumpy road. I can already see a small hole appearing in the paint...

Mine is going in next Friday for a new bumper and stuff. They are just waiting for the bumper protectors to be delivered.

RR - Did they actually replace the bumper ??

Mine went in yesterday and they accepted the issue (but it was the "First time we have seen that !!") and thought it was due to the bonnet being dropped onto the slam plate (as approved in the manual)

They have added the foam spacer pads under the light units and remounted the bumper so it now looks more in line BUT i have now noticed they have left the bumper with deep scuff into the paint and not attempted to do anything about it... not even a chip pain pen fill job....

Now maybe i`m fussy but if its a build fault that caused the damage should they not have put the damage right too ???

Update - It went in and came back without being done. It goes in again on Monday. I assume I am having a new bumper as the guy at Johnsons in Oxford said "we've got the bumper just waiting for the corner protectors".

I'm sure it won't, its always been a slightly different shade when you look really carefully. Apparantly the car and bumpers are painted in different places, so the chance of a 100% match is v unlikely. Just hope the colour isn't far out.

I have been told today (after 3 weeks) that my front bumper can have a complete respray but the back one has to be touched up only! Im not happy. I was told by Honda CS that they hadn't heard of any others with this problem

Anyway I soon put them straight and asked them to get back to me as to why some people are getting new bumpers and mine can only be repaired.

Had a call from Honda CS today. They have agreed to replace both my bumpers and measure the paint thickness on the car

Well after initially blaming me for the bumper issue they have now accepted that i pointed this out when i collected the car so if anyone "did it" it was them

So after remounting it all the other day and fitting the spacer pads correctly they are now going to take it in to the bodyshop and sort it properly....

To give a bit of balance it has taken two attempts at the dealer but my issue is going to be resolved and they have offered a courtesy car for the day that they will need the car

Well, had the bumper replaced yesterday, the central plastic still seems lower than the headlights, but apparantly it is correctly fitted with the spacers under it. Hopefully thats it for now. Mind you that means the next trip to the dealer won't be free one!!

As with other respondants, mine has small plastic/rubber spacers fitted in the corners however the glass is flush with the bumper on one side and 2mm out one the other - another triumph of Britsh manufacture!

I do wonder whether these problems come from catching the plastic 'mud flaps' on the underside of the front bumper, mine has grounded several times on steep slopes.
