Windscreen top strip

Well, I've just had my first service and everything is fine but they modified my fuel filler release (even though I'd had no problems - I'll probably get one now).

They also replaced the top plastic strip (Honda instruction) on the windscreen as, on some Civics, it has been chaffing it's way through the paint meaning an entire roof respray! Luckily my paint was undamaged.

But! Unless it is corrected it could go down to the metal and cause rusting!! Worth checking yours in case it has damaged the paint!

This was apparently a recall for early car Allan - there is a thread somewhere - tho it seems most dealers are just dealing with it at the service

Just had the 25k service and they "checked this product update"....they now want my car for a week to remove the screen, sort the issue and respray the entire roof....!!!

They are also giving up on the passenger door handle and replacing that under warranty, the rear knock seems to have stopped but it was sounding very similar....not an early 06 plate by any chance ??

After 1 day with a 1.4 Jazz a whole week without the Diesel monster is not a happy thought, but at least they are checking the issue and dealing with it.

Peugeot just closed eyes and shouted BLAH BLAH BLAH !!

I had mine for a service today (25k) - they tell me that the bodyshop will be in touch about the Windscreen Seal replacement. I assume this means a re-spray. I wasn't told how long they'd need it for. As much as a full week off the road???

Cool

Yep - the rascals want your car for a week. Look on the bright side - they gave me a metallic pink auto Jazz for a week!! People at work thought I looked a right tw*t, they were right!

Can't wait for the next recall, it must average one every 3 months.

Whilst driving the girlfriends '06 Civic down the M4 I could hear a flapping sound coming from the roof. Turns out that the rubber strip had become loose and was flapping about in the breeze. The strip was replaced under recall a few month ago. However I was amazed to see some brown rust stains where I presume the original strip had rubbed away at the paintwork. Why this wasn't picked up by the dealers beggars belief. Anyhow its going in for paint repairs under warranty. Might be worth other Civic owner's checking theres to be on the safe side.

3 days after they had it in for a week I experienced the flapping rubber windscreen strip slapping my roof on the M62! Pushed it back in and it's been okay since.
