Fixed anything..

Hi there, nice forum!!

Anyone know, if Honda has fixed the problem with the rear shocks to the 2007 models!? I'm getting my new car today, and that is 2007 (factory's) model. I think it would be wise for them also if they had!

We'll see if it starts having noise from shocks or not, hope not

Jaha tervetuloa vaan!

There was a whole batch of faulty shocks used in Civics. But I think there haven't been any faulty ones after that one batch. Dealers know which manufacturing numbers have them, and they will replace the shocks before you even get your car if it happens to be one of those. I wouldn't worry.

Are you actually getting your car today or just ordering it today? Well congratulations in any case!

Or is it dampers? Are they the same thing?

Not the case I'm afraid copycat - I requested that my serial no's get checked before I collected my car back in May and was told "off the record" that Honda have informed dealers to only check/replace the faulty ones "upon customer request" AFTER they've taken delivery of the car and notice the fault.

Had they performed this check on mine then it would have saved me a trip to get mine checked on Tuesday just gone...

Sorry to hear that Fedorov.

I guess I was being too optimistic.

On the whole shock absorber/damper thing, I realize now that they are the same thing. Only damper is the "proper" term for it, and shock absorbers is something they call them "in the colonies".

Polosny, your dealer must be mistaken if he has told you that you are getting a 2007 car. Get them to double check.
