Key in the ignition beeping

Anyone come up with a solution to stop the most annoying beep in the world. I can't put into words how stupid this feature is and whilst my car is in pieces, I'd like to stop it!

There is a thread covering this, I will try and find it. I have done it, its not difficult, just involves removing a plug at the ignition barrel.

The seatbelt beaper is the cable under the drivers seat, simple undo the plug
This stops the beep when you put the key in ignitiont but aren't wearing a belt (disables it altogether actually)

The key in ignition 'doors open' beep is unaffected by this though and is an unstoppable anoying force

I un-plugged the seatbelt alarm the day I got it, just want to stop the door open beeping from working.

I didn't realise people had it done long term!

Awesome work

Edit: That's got 4 wires to it, i dont imagine all 4 are for a beeper, has anyone any idea what they are ?

The other 2 might be for the light around the key hole.

Im not sure what any of the wires do, but can say it hasn't made any noticeable difference to the car over the past 20k except to stop the hideous beeping.
