uneven power delivery

Hi, can anyone help with this very annoying problem?

I have a 2007 1.8 civic which has uneven power delivery in a most gears, it feels like lag or missfire / hicup. I have just been on a 100 mile motorway run and it was driving me crazy.

Cheers Chilli

Has it had a thorough service recently? How many miles has it done? Once the engine is warmed up can you see any smoke or cloudiness from the exhaust (note on a cold day you will see cloudiness regardless).

Can be something of the ignition. Probably spark plug or something.

First thing I'd try is in the same situation, turn off the vsa and try again, atleast then you can iliminate traction control/abs sensors being faulty...

Check your battery connections as a 1st port of call.
Then as above....plugs/coils/leads
No fault codes ?
No datalogging ?

Cheers for the replies, I think I will change the plugs first to see if that helps.

No fault codes have flashed up, it just feels odd.7

Cheers again, chilli

Dirty injectors perhaps

Run a can or two of BG44K through it

Does it 'hiccup' when the car is warm. If so it might be a bad coil pack.
