Not happened to me but the better half applied it once but didn't engage it properly and it crashed back to the floor with a bang as soon as she let go of it. Put that one down to user error.................. but don't tell the missus!!

happened to me and to my wife several times... Last time Monday afternoon with a big "Clunk" when it release itself. (we where still in the car) but we are still unable to recreate the incident ! But it has to do with the button and the position of the brake.

Yep mine did it, I could not leave it in gear as it was parked outside my garage with the engine running, glad to say the handbrake dropped off just as I opened the door. I always give the lever a good waggle after pulling it on before getting out.
Since starting to do the waggle bit it has never dropped off.

No Mate, Aways leave it in gear anyway.
Maybe it slips coz that is where they have placed most of the body paint.

Are we talking about the hand brake lever dropping off the ratchet or the more common vehicle rolling off after being left out of gear with the handbrake on after a long drive (aka brake discs cooling/shrinking)?

In either case it's no, but my handbrake lever is a bit wallopy, so I wouldn't put it past it happening at some point.
