are there any other dieas people have as a retail buy to protect against stone chips, i mean i guess we are all looking for something here a bit similar to the concept of putting vaseline on a boxers eyebrow to cause the opponents glove to slip off on impact. Cool thing about that comparison is it makes us the boxer

I picked up my new Type R in Milano Red yesterday, left the dealers and went a run to Pitlochry. Imagine how I felt after getting out to admire my new car in the sun and noticing 6 stone chips after only 68 miles.... was totally deflated and p***ed off so headed home gave the car a wash and found another 3 all on the bonnet, 9 chips in total in the space of 114 miles. Our 2 year old Mazda has covered the same journey many times and has over 12,000 miles and has 1 stone chip.
I couldn't believe it as I left plenty space between myself and other vehicles as had previously been reading this thread and never heard anything of any significance smacking off the car. Think I'll be popping back to dealer on Monday to get pait thickness checked. Does this make me the proud owner of "The Most Stone Chips in the Least amount of Time" award |

Let us how how you get on at the dealers. Honda need to do something about their paint. It's the one and only factor that would seriously put me off buying another Honda. |

There is little that p***es you off more than getting your first stone chip on a new car.
But nine in such a short time of owning the car. |

got a vivid blue type s 6000 miles got 7 chips on it, costing £500 to get the whole bonnet rubbed down & re-sprayed to blend in with the wings. this is the only 1 of 2 faults with an otherwise luvly car, the other fault is they have stopped colour coding the all round trims !!! grrrrrrr
