Constant Velocity joint. There is one on each side and transmit drive from the engine via the gearbox to each front wheel.

Way too early to happen. Definitely a warranty repair.

Poacher should reply but, CV joints do not make a humming noise when worn out. Instead, they make an intermittent "clack-clack-clack" type sound, most significant when steered to one side fully. Straight ahead, no sounds are noticeable.

When the CV went on my old civic it made a rattling noise under hard acceleration when going in a straight line. It had 130k miles thou....

Surely I meant for normal and calm torque applications when going straight, that would not make noises.. Since the worn-out CV joint has excess clearances, it is most natural that there will be rattles when you accelerate hard, due to varying impact forces acting on it. And 130000 miles is a reasonable mileage to wear out...

That's very intelligent, i was thinking of building protector caps for fog lights as too much exposed, especially when parking en so ! Can you give us some details as to how you have managed to fabric theses foglight protectors ? Any photos ??
