Unhappy Civic badge coming off!?

Hi,

My new car (7 days old) has just been back to Honda for them to picture and email Honda UK, because my Civic badge is coming unstuck! The 'ic' of Civic is coming unstuck and it's becoming steadily more unstuck day by day I know it's picky and petty, but I don't want some little s*d trying to remove the badge (with or without some implement). Why is Honda UK being so petty themselves??, the badge must cost them next to nothing (I'm sure the Workshop at Swindon has them stuck on everything and anything).

Has anyone else had this problem (it wasn't picked up at the PDI, I must admit though I went over the car with what I thought was fine-tooth comb and never spotted it, or the bumper stops [part of the city pack] was stuck on badly!!!).

Other than these niggles (and the creak/bang/clonk that comes from the passenger side whenever I pull away, Honda is also going to look at this for me, I LOVE my car and wonder why I never got one earlier!!!!!!).

Tom

How do you reckon they de badge them FWH. ??
Use a hot air gun, so the glue loosens and the paint is not damaged. ?

The CTDi-badge on mine is already gone, the civic-badge also loosened at "ic", so only hanging on with "civ" at the moment.
I don't think it will fall of but I will kindly ask my dealer to re-attach it the next time I pass by.

Dont think it will stay there Koen, now that the sticky stuff has become dirty.
Best insist on replacements.

I will, definately! But for now it's ok. I'm not gonna drive to my dealer straight away only for this. Maybe when I'm in the neighbourhood...
This is just not the thing to go nagging about. I'll tell him next time, he will fix it in a decent way. Period.

The usual de-badge ploy is a hairdryer and a length of dental floss to carefully get between the badge and the sticky stuff.

Koen,
Don't have them using some form of glue to stick back the ic part.
If someone decides to nick it, or just pull it off for a laugh, you could end up having a spray job.

Not the point that you are not too bothered is it gray.
It's yet again ---- punters are plonkers attitude by the dealer.

Nope - between the badge and the sticky stuff so as not to damage or scuff the paint.

One the badge is off white spirit or similar will easily soak in and allow the sticky stuff to fall off or be peeled from the edges without damaging the paint - which should then be immediately re-waxed.

I'm thinking of removing it and leaving it off all together. Maybe replace it with a civinfo-sticker.
The spot where it is placed is slightly curved, and the logo isn't, so there will be constant stress on the thing, and in the end it will come off again I think.

It looks better without the badges.
