Strange engine vibration

Hello.
I have searched for this fault but did not find anything similar...so here goes.
In the last couple of weeks i have noticed a strange vibration in the front side of the car, when the car is not moving and the engine is on....(while standing at the red light for example). It can be felt on the steering wheel, floor, handbrake, even the front seats. It is quite disturbing, and the dealer found nothing wrong with the car systems, so they said is is probably the poor quality of the fuel. Since then, i have tried many fuel types, but the vibration is the same......

Please, does any one know what this could be, and how to fix it?...

Thanks...

Hmmmm, most odd mine has clonk as you pull away (like something sliding in to place), but I only get a minor rev every so often when still, and definately nothing as noticable as yours sounds, my 3 series did though and it was rotted rubber engine mounts, but it shouldn't be the case on a newish civic.

Loose engine mount?

What fuel are you using?

The octane difference should have solved knocking and pinking, but it's shouldn't have been massively noticable in the beginning. I'd try another dealer and see if they have any luck finding it??

Off topic: Is the auto-dimming rear-view mirror an optional part for the UK, or did you adapt it from somewhere else?..

Its a 300 pound option here, I like it, but it is not really necessary. Do you get them as standard there???

My car has had a loud humming noise joined accompanied with strong vibration that fades over maybe four seconds. This tends to happen when the car is standing still, or just as I've turned off the engine. I think it might the aircon switching off, as it only happens on really hot days when I've got the temp set to 18o? I've probably heard this four or five times - this is in the only post on here I've found that seems to describe this scenario.

I went for the auto-dimming rear view mirror option and find it very useful as most of my journeys to work are in the dark. I think it is a £200 pound option and not £300 as somebody else stated.
