Bet he was having a pork pie for his lunch.
There are (I think) over 300 Honda dealers in the UK, so I doubt many would have first hand expenience of 'an incident'.

I trust you weren't giving your dealer grief

Certainly not Doubtingthomas, it isn't their fault, Tis Honda's.
How about this then, -- Come service time, they do the 40 mile round trip to my place with a car for me (Completely free), take mine in and return it around 5pm.
They are so nice and helpful, it makes you sick.

OK,
After having the handbrake mod done I had problems with coming to the car 3 times with no handbrake on and once it dropping as I got in to the car.
I took it in and they "fixed" it again - but the handbrake is VERY tight (tighter than it's ever been), no slack and when I was going 30mph took my foot off the break and the car actually slowed like it never used to.
Should I take it in tomorrow and demand they look at it? Just don't REALLY know what I'm arguing and expect them to say it's normal.

Sounds like the handbrake is permanently on.

Take it back to the dealer, or if you can be bothered, jack up the rear and see if the wheel spins freely.

I'm double posting Yes, tried that - the handbrake does spin but you can feel a bit of resistance and hear the brake rub.
Any idea how dangerous this is both to me and my car? Esp on an 80mile drive?

Not really dangerous I would say - but would cause wear on the brake pads.

I would suggest that you e mail the Dealer, informing them that it is too late to change your travel plans and due to them , the problem will wear your pads down unduely and you will require a decent discount at pad changing time for not doing the mod' correctly.
I complained about my pads wearing down too quickly and they are replacing mine for £60 instead of £85 per axle.
I like e mails, for complaining, as they can't say that they didn't receive them and you can shove a copy in their face.

Today I talked with a service man because my handbreak clicks 10 to reach the max position.I think this is too many , my previous cars handbreake clicked 6 to reach the max position and I think this is the normal number. The service man asked my vin number because there is a handbreak recall on some 08my civic.

Depends how it is designed.
I doubt there is a magic number everyone designs to.

I am not a mechanic but may I suggest you have the handbrake adjusted. I think I am right in saying you are not yet due your first service but I'm sure your local dealer will oblige.

Yes, I know it is a fairly new car, but in my humble opinion you should not have to pull the lever up so high to activate the handbrake. It may work now, to a degree, but sooner or later the handbrake will become difficult to apply and will fail on slopes. I hardly apply the handbrake in my garage, just leave the car in gear. It won't go anywhere.
