Freebies?

Yes I know there are no such thing as Freebies. The buyer ultimately pays.
In my case I was so relieved in trading my eight month old Mini Cooper (2039 miles) that I would have taken any deal.
At least I now have a car that I am happy with and the one I should have bought in the first place, but you don't get to my age without making some mistakes and a Mini Cooper is definitely not the car for a Septuagenarian.

I think that it is okay to a point to get Freebies. However, as a dealer, it can be frustrating sometimes when the price of the car gets kicked down and then some people still expect Free Stuff as part of the deal. I don't remeber getting a belt and tie for free when I bought my last suit...which I didn't get discount on.. I'm not saying people shouldn't ask, but it needs to be fair.

Got mine from Avonvale Stratford upon Avon.Sales guy was really friendly and thankfully didn't keep calling me sir (haven't been knighted)!
No complaints, picked up with 9500 miles and been given a letter for a free 12k service and also had a full tank of fuel!

Although not too sure about the pre delivery check, boot light not working and when I removed it to check the bulb found the light disconnected!

To be honest, I didn't expect anything: who wants cheapo wine, umbrellas or key rings anyway? I was more than happy with the great price and full tank of diesel from Westgate Honda Grimsby.

I got a complimentary set of floor mats, and an umbrella. They're branded Bassetts (that's the dealer)

The full tank is a Honda delivery standard on every new car, the boot light was probably disconnected from when the car was on display in the showroom, stopping the battery from discharging.

Yeah, that sounds reasonable.

If you've bought it from a main dealer, then yes it should. It is included in the 'on the road' costs. So make sure you get it.

Yes you should get a full tank of fuel with every new Honda car, including the Type R.

I Did.
Don't know if this applies to second hand cars though.

I got a "free" Type R pen to sign the documents when i picked it up.

But as others have said, there isn't anything FREE anymore. If you check the small print you have actually paid for it as part of the "on-the road" price added onto to the screen price.

What if you get a new car on lease/contract hire? If I pick it up from a dealer but never actually 'bought' it there, should I still get the full tank? After all, it was bought from somewhere, but by the lease co and not by me.

To be honest I don't know. I suppose the delivery costs will have had to be paid by someone, so possibly yes.

I'm sure someone who has purchased their car like this will let you know.

I did

And it was delivered to my door on the back of a small low loader

no flowers for the missus though

To be fair, I think the dlr kinda figured they wouldn't be getting my servicing custom as they were 200 miles away, so I'm not surprised they didn't invest a great deal in freebies
