I like it, I like it, well done. As you probably know the Honda Happiness is worth £500 alone.

Yeah I noticed it was worth £500. Chuffed!

A little birdie told me that the honda dealers (franchise) buy the type r from honda at approx 15k.

Staff are allowed to give approx 6% discount, and I played the dealers against each other with quotes that werent logged on to Honda system.
Took a 2 months, but saved me a packet.

Except Mrs Shoulin decided she wanted a new car to!! so my little bundle of saved dosh was redirected out of my warm wallet into her cold cluthes! dam that woman, lol.

The little birdie I spoke to is a Dealer Principle for a Peugeot Franchise. His previous employment was Honda where he was a Buisness Manager a few years ago. It seems his advice was correct.

So what is it that seems incorrect?

I'm picking mine up today (i-Shift Type-S GT, Milano) - and managed to haggle a Type-R grille for free when I did the deal. We'll see if they want to embellish that with anything else later on. I doubt it though, I think I screwed them out of some cash by getting my own loan...

The amount at which the dealer purchases the vehicle from Honda is incorrect.

Well he did say approx 15k, as he no longer works for Honda, he can only go by past experience.
He did say as a rule a dealer/franchise, looks to make around 4k on any sale.

His advice stood me well.
He also mentioned that Peugeot dealers can purchase cars from Peugeot at different prices depending on the quantity they buy, and the turn around on sales.

So a more successful franchise may have better buying power from manufacturer.

He was unsure if Honda operates this way anymore.

My understanding, from the dealership that sold me my Civic, is that you are correct and Honda still operate in this fashion. OR, the dealership that sold me my Civic told me a pack of lies and was still able to give me an excellent discount which my local dealer could not match.

If it's a new car then a full tank of fuel is included in the delivery price

Got my type r in march 07, dealers sponsor a couple of big football teams and said they would get me tickets for hospitality - still waiting

Not too bothered but if they cant manage the system then its not worth offering to customers.

My EX is a lease, and according to the contract basic price was £15460 + £323 extras (metallic).

An 8.25% discount and an additional volume discount meant the company got it for about £14.5k

Unfortunately Gordon's mates take tax off me based on the price being £19,172
