Free Gifts when purchasing your Civic

In October, a friend and I both wanting to change our cars, visited a local Honda dealer together to test drive a Civic. We both decided to buy identical models. I collected mine a couple of days before my friend. A few weeks later, when we met, we discovered that my friend had been given several bottles of wine at the time of collection, the later, sent an unusual keyring (OK no big deal). I received none of these.

Did anyone else receive freebies when they bought their Civics

Mine was a company car which I received two weeks ago. I just nominated a preferred dealer to the lease company.

The dealer then managed to source the exact spec I was after much faster than HSBC could, and offered me a couple of 'sweeteners':

1. A full tank of petrol. (previous lease cars have come with enough fuel to roll off the forecourt)
2. A Honda watch.

I'm still waiting on the watch to be delivered, but liked the thought.

I was given a euro 2008 castrol keyring - but I think the dealer was having some fun with me.

My wife suggested champagne and flowers for when we picked the car up - the dealer just laughed!

I got a bullet shaped keyring, with a letter thanking me for purchasing another Honda. It looks nice, but useless in it's function and as such lies in a drawer gathering dust!

I was told by my dealer (JT Hughes in Telford) that they used to give bunches of flowers but now enter you into a local charity lottery for the year. Seems pretty cool to me.
