Went to my dealers last night just out of interest to see what they had in. They had a Tangerine Orange Civic as there main display car and it looked awesome. First time ive seen one actually in the flesh as such.

It might look good now, but I think it might be one of these "fashion" colours that, in a couple of years might make a dent in a cars resale value. A bit like white a few years ago. At one time it was the colour to have, nowadays no one wants white. (Although I think the new Fiat 500 looks great in white). Will probably look good as a Type R, a bit like the Focus ST, which I suppose it's designed to compete with. Honda might be accused of being copycats though.

Well. as far as white is concerned, few paints come in so many varieties - there is the bland "average van white" and there is pearl white like on the new Merc S or warm white like on the new Accord. Interestingly, white is still in fashion for upper class cars, oppositely to what one might expect, because white is practical, relatively easy and cheap to maintain. Just as is the case with black or red, white fits some cars particularly well (as the Merc C class IMO) or particularly bad (as the previous model Citroen C5). As always - "beauty is in the eye of the beholder"

Nothing beats the fluo yellow Mondeo from the early days.
And if that wasn't enough, the paint started to fade after a few years, especially on the bumbers. That was the most ugly colour for a car I ever saw.

Candy floss pink was an awful colour on the Jazz. I’d rather be seen b8ll8ck naked than drive round in a car that colour. I wanted vivid blue but it’s discontinued so went for the trust old Milano red. I think the 06 Civic carries the colour off much better than the last one did
I also like silver but every other car on the road is silver these days.

Our last three cars had been silver, and although I liked them I had got tired of looking at the same colour everywhere. Silver is great - it keeps well, doesn't look dirty as soon as it rains, etc - but really glad we went for tangerine for a change!

Candy White on the VW golf GTi looks awsome as it is a 'softer' white, not a sharp white, the same could be said if Honda did the same on the type r imho.

I personally dont like tangerine orange and think its a bit of a fad colour but I dont think Honda can be compared to the ASBO orange on the Focus ST, let alone accused of copying.
