Service schedule
I bought my civic new, but not from honda. I have been told by somebody that i have to set up a service schedule with honda within a few months of the car being first registered. And if i dont set a service schedule up with honda then they will refuse to service the car.
Now i dont want 2 setup a schedule because i just want to take my car to be serviced when its due to be serviced. Is there any truth in this? I dont think this to be true, and if it is, its utter b*****ks IMO |

Who was the somebody? It may be worth registering with Honda, so they can post any recall letters to you.
Just take it in for a service when it needs it though. |

If it was first registered in another country and was imported then you will need to register it with Honda UK. I don't think any dealer would refuse to service it as you pay for that. But you want to make sure your warranty is intact. If it is a UK car then you shouldn't have to do anything, as you didn't buy it off a dealer I would ring Honda UK and make sure they know you are the owner of that car, as Pottsy says, you want recall letters etc should your car require them.
PS. Is it possible to buy a brand new car from a non dealer? I thought all new cars were only sold by the manufacturers authorised dealers. Or by new do you mean pre-registered in another european country, I know lots of subarus come in that way as they work out to be cheaper from Malta etc. Last edited by XCGuard; 16th January 2008 at 16:22. |
