Probably a daft question

But I'm taking delivery of my Type R GT next week, which I'm leasing through a company down near Portsmouth (I'm in Dundee). Now to my knowledge, if I need any warranty work on the car I just take it to any old Honda dealer? Is that correct?

Also, while I'm at it - do all new Hondas come with 7 days complimentary insurance, or do I need to ask for this?

You need to get a quote from Honda Insurance to give you the 7 day drive-away cover!

When I did this, they were supposed to get back to me regarding the 7 day insurance & fax the cover note to the dealer - they never did!

I ended up getting my insurance company (Elephant) to fax a cover note from them to the dealer.

So if you end up like me, its probably better to have your own insurance sorted anyway!

We got our free 7 day insurance and they were very organised but then they send you a quote to insure you for the year and it was £250 more than what we pay now.

The leasing company ordered the car for me last Tuesday, confirmed delivery date is next tuesday (5th February).

Also - should the car come with a full tank of petrol? Or is this just something that dealers might throw in at their discretion?

The Company Car Tax will be collosal on a Type R. You get a tank of fuel as a part the deal.

I'll give you a timeline!

Spoke with them initially 2 weeks ago, they gave me a quote, I thought about it over the weekend and got back to them Monday morning to say yes. Monday morning they faxed paperwork for finance which I faxed back, all accepted late on Monday. Tuesday morning (22nd) they ordered the car from dealer. Phone me to tell me this.

Few days quiet, then phonecall on Monday this week to say car arriving at dealer tomorrow (29th). Phonecall on 29th to ask when I wanted car delivered, said 5th. Expecting another call today to confirm registration number.

If you haven't heard, I'd give them a call and chase them up.
