Finance Rough PCP monthly payment

I went to a dealer today to test-drive the Civic i-CDTi and really like the car. I’m new to the whole car purchasing thing and had been looking on the Honda web site, anyway decided that my best option would be the Personal - Final Payment type basically PCP. I plan on doing around 25,000 miles per year and change after 3 years.

When I started to talk numbers and type of options the sales guy came back at me firstly with £552 a month over 3 years but then immediatley said that he could drop that to £488. Not sure why he came back with these figures as I didn’t want to buy the car outright. Next he said he could do it over 5 years for £330. I still didn’t want to buy it outright.

I also asked him twice how long delivery would be and he said he didn’ know, he even appeard to have asked his manager or whoever the guy is they prentend to see whenever you ask them a question.

I did find out that he had only been working for Honda for 2 weeks.

I’m putting my old car in as my only deposit which he said he would give me £400-£500, which I suppose, was ok for the age and miles.

Anyway I want to purchase a 2.2 iCDTi SE

Car £15,900
Metallic Paint £ 375
Bluetooth Kit £ 350
Child Seat £ 100
Floor Mats £ 60
SS Spare Wheel £ 100
Deposit -£ 450

= £16,435

Does anybody know roughly what the monthly payment would be for PCP and agreed mileage of £75000.

Alternativly can anyone recommend a dealership in the north east that can advise me properly.

Came away today feeling like I’d just wasted an hour of my life. except for the test drive.

As it says you can buy the car through a broker, like Buy a Car, Deals on New Cars, drivethedeal.com, New Car Discount, Car Deal Online who can get a fair bit of list price and use Freeways to finance. GlenMH says their rates are good. I don't know if you have a car to PX, thats where it gets a bit messy as you'll have to sell it privately as brokers don't tend to take PX's.

Thanks for the info. Looks like i can save a grand by ordering on the net. The only thing i noticed is that they havent got all of the options listed but i'm sure if i give them a call they will be able to sort me out. The good thing is is that the also offer discounted prices on the options as well.

At least i've now got an idea what i'll be looking at for a monthly payment.

Glen - no probs. I think if you go through as though you are ordering, specify your options in a text box and ask about delivery they will contact you once they've spoken to the dealer so you at least get an idea of when the car will be available and you can decide whether you want to proceed.

I bought my last Civic from Springfield in Sunderland and found them really helpful. I wasn't part exchanging so they came down on price, threw in free car mats, did a deal on the Mul-T-Lock, and got me a bouquet of flowers.

Bought this one from de Vries and they wouldn't budge on price and I paid for my mats.
