Offers bargain 1.8 ex?

Hello,

So today I was offered a 1.8 EX (glass roof+leather) in Galaxy Grey for just over 17.

What puts me off is, I saw an add for a different car (same spec but different colour) but they said it had already been sold and offered me this one, for a little bit more, that just happened to be in the showroom. but it doesn't have the wheels I want.

It will be a march delivery with tax and fuel.

But I have doubts.

Is this a good deal, that's too good to be true? and should I go for it?

I was going to wait for the summer and order a new 1.8 ES.

How old is the car in question Coldwarkid? I bought my 1.8 EX 6 months old (now 07 reg). It has glass roof, leather, reverse parking camera and 18" Storm alloys... 5500 miles on the clock... £16,999

I was told it had delivery miles on it and I would be the first registered owner.

Buy it!... mine was listed at £19,300 brand new with the extras... paid 17k 6 months old... thought i had a good deal!

Yeah, thats what my wallet says. I think it might be an 07 model they have kicking about and want to get rid of.

Are there any major differences between this year and last year? in reguards to getting rid of all the bugs and rattles.

Honestly...too early to say... people on here are still getting the handbrake recall letter!... Mine is 07 reg never had a single problem with the handbrake, however, is going in for warranty work this Friday due to the usual crap suspension problems (knocks and bangs when turning corners)... I think the majority of the bigger issues will have been resolved in this years models but be prepared to expect the smaller niggly issues to keep making an appearance! However...other than my suspension... i cannot fault the car, wouldn't swap it for any other, the luxurys on the EX are well worth the extra wonga too!

From a specification point of view, the 08 MY car comes with parking sensors standard. the only outward change. As for software upgrades etc, these are continually ongoing as are 'under the skin' and happen throughout the life of a model of car.

As for the price, sounds like you should be chewing his hand off.

I paid under 15 and a half brand new on the road for my 1.8 EX without the roof and leather.

Coldwarkid - I too would bite his hand off. The colour is good and the spec is perfect (look what one owner thinks of his ES decision).
