I was very disappointed to be sold a Civic that required an upgrade to the i-shift and only found out when nearly meeting my maker on a roundabout. The car lost all power for 3 secs and we were nearly mown down by an earth moving lorry! This loss of power we later learned through Civinfo was a manufacturing fault and subject to a re-call. Honda(UK) delayed the modification despite the dangers and were less than sympathetic with our plight. They told me if I didn't like it sell the car! Luckily the dealer was more responsible and loaned us a car until the modification was completed (3 weeks). The modification has been done and the car is a joy and I approached Honda(UK) to take up the 5 year service plan prior the 1st service being due. Honda (UK) have refused saying the rules are that I should have taken the option by August 2008 when we were having the problems. I was absolutely disgusted at this response and questioned the rule for selling a car that was dangerous and not fit for its purpose but they don't want to know and despite saying they will contact me; they haven't and they can't be bothered. The Civic is a great car but I'm sorry Honda it's the last time I shall be buying from you - I have no problems with the dealer network who I know are put under pressure to deliver a service but its a case of getting your own house in order.

it seems part of the course with Honda(UK) unfortunately.
Sorry to hear you horrific story of losing power but very glad to hear you got good dealer help and support. The car is a great car to drive and it's good that even though you had problems you still love the car. Let's hope you can forget about the usual poor customer service and enjoy your car. |

There appears to be many examples of poor Customer Services care posted in this forum.
There are thousands of other owners out there who dont use this forum, let alone, know of its existence. Is this just the 'tip of the iceberg'? It must be!! One thing is for sure. This forum is known and watched by Honda. So Honda...GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER AND SHOW YOUR CUSTOMERS SOME RESPECT, ANSWER RECIEVED LETTERS, GET BACK TO CUSTOMERS WHEN YOU SAY YOURE GOING TO AND DEAL WITH PROBLEMS PROMPTLY. We, the customers, are paying!!! |
