To buy or not to buy?

Hi, new here, I need convincing! I have a Seat Leon 2.0 diesel,140 bhp, and this is my fourth Leon, I have been that pleased with them, especially the engine. I intend buying new next month, and have been looking looking at the ES Diesel. I have been offered the same trade in by Honda as Seat, plus there is a bit more to be squeezed out of them, I think.
So really looking for some guidance, how do you think the Honda will compare with the Seat? Anything to look out for? Any advice on whether to buy next month, or wait until we come back from a month in Spain, and buy in May?
I realise it will all be personal opinions, but I would be grateful for any thoughts, any opinions.
Cheers

The only way to decide is to drive the Civic back to back with your Seat. I have no experience with a Seat, but can wholeheartedly recommend the Civic as being an excellent drive and with a style that still is not matched by anything on the road.

Having test drove bothe the civic and the leon, i would 100% go for the civic! Just compare the ride. And the interior of the civic is FAR FAR superior to the leon. IMO of course!

Thanks for the feedback!
Any thoughts on 3 door or 5? I was surprised to see the 3 door is dearer.
We are only two 99% of the time.
Thanks

Could'nt agree more about the steering/handling-the car really delivers when pressing on and has always felt surefooted and composed.

3 or 5 doors depends on your situation. i have a 5 doors and like it a lot very practical.

I drove the seat before and its giving much fun and it feels faster. But i think the Civic is more a special car. The engine is very powerfull and go's all the way. Inside the car there is just one car you want and thats the civic. So much functionallity and the looks are awesome.

I choose if i had to make the dissicion again for the Civic. Even my GF who didn't like the civic in the beginning just love to ride it.

There is just only one problem --> speedingtickets --> i have the car now 2,5 months and 4 tickets!!!!!!!

I looked at the Seat when choosing, I loved the exterior and the equipment levels were high, but as soon as I saw the interior, I was really really disappointed.
The Civic is a great all-rounder and equipment levels a little better I think. I would recommend the parking sensors though as an option.

My opinion - go for the Civic!

I am about to hand back my 04 Leon SE TDi after 90,000 brilliant miles and I will miss it awfully. That said, I went to look at the current model and loved the drive, the engine, the handling - I thought it was superb. But you will never get me behind that dashboard - it's awful! I much prefer the older model. Plus, when I compared it to the Civic, the extras I got with just the SE compared to the 'high-spec' Stylance Leon made it a bit of a no-brainer.

I honestly think the standard Leon (not the Cupra range) is a little more fun to drive than the standard Civic, but not so much that it makes up for the dreadful interior of the Leon.

I wish Seat had kept their act together and continued with a great range that matches their spirited engines but they seem to have lost the plot somewhere.

Thanks for the replies.
I have just tried the 3 door, Type S, and I have shortish legs, but a long back, and even with the seat fully down, and the steering wheel fully up, I could not see the top of the rev counter. Tried the five door and it is a bit better, I can just about see the top of it. The salesman has come up just over £320 on his previous quote, so I guess it's make my mind up time over the weekend. I think the engine of the 2.2 Honda sounds harsher if pushed a bit, and most of the new cars there seem to have the rust around the top of the front disc's (not on the flat of the disc facing you, I know that will go as soon as the brakes are applied) which spoils the look.

To be honest, ANY car with open faced alloy wheels that has been left for longer than a few days will start to show surface oxidisation on the discs. As soon as the brakes are applied a few times, this will go. if it is along the top edge of the disc, then they can be cleaned/gently wire woolled as it were to remove this surface rust.
