The lack of customer care from Honda (UK) causes me considerable concern.
In June 2007 I bought my ex demonstration Civic I-shift from Bexhill Honda and within 6 weeks we were nearly involved in 3 accidents one almost life threatening because of problems of power losses whilst driving in automatic. Bexhill Honda – who have been brilliant – tried to sort out the problem but hinted there might be a modification in the pipe line and suggested I contact Honda (UK). Their response to my concerns that my car was potentially lethal was; “if you don’t like the car then sell it!” Who are these people who can treat their customers in such a manner and with such little respect? Whilst waiting for the I-shift modification I was offered a Honda Happiness 5 year service plan but couldn’t take it up until I was certain I was keeping the car. The modification was completed mid December 2007 and now my car runs like a “dream”. Before the 1st service was due I applied to take up the 5 year service offer but Honda (UK) said No because the offer was out of time. I explained the problems of the I-shift and I was unsure I would keep the car and was told they would ring me back. I have now made 4 calls and written but Honda (UK) whilst promising to ring back or reply to my letter, have done nothing. I can only consider that my car because of its modification to the I-shift is not a car they wish to include in their service plan. The dealer assures me this is not the case and whilst being sympathetic they appear powerless. What is a car without the support of the manufacturer?????????????? Does anyone wish to comment or can anyone out there beat this? I think its about time customers had a say and what better way than through the internet. In my limited experience with them, for a much less trivial matter than yours, I found that they never returned phones calls. I had to do all the chasing, very poor as you say.
