First black car I've had and think the colour suits the type S perfectly.I would choose black again for the Civic.

When I said Red and Black looks good, I presume you will be putting the splitters on in glossy black??

Come on TT, what's your decision? Or is the jury still out??

Colour coded red with the front and rear splitters in black - Like shademasters Type R. But keep the standard grille and no R spoiler.

I like this idea of spending other peoples money ;~)

LOL

jury is still well and truly out...

Not helped by troggsing round all the dlrs yesterday, and sitting in various other makes:
Dodge Avenger SXT - ALL the toys, dead cheap - but, well, American and slow
New Scooby Imprezza! - WOW but a tad more expensive
CRV / FRV - outside choices, but with plus points
Lexus IS220 / 225 - possible, but probably not

choices choices!

a Red Type S is shading the lead at the mo, but it's all up in the air

You can't buy an Avenger. Anybody old enough will just think it is an upgrade of the old Chrysler Avenger. Actually, it probably is having read some review of it

As for the Scoob, well I do love my Scoobs, but the running costs are high. But they have just introduced a boxer diesel engine in the Legacy estate. It might only have 150ps power but it still manages to get the large estate to 62mph in 8.9sec and gives 56mpg. It might be an option in the future for the Impreza

I sat in the Dodge Avenger last year at the Leipzig motor show and to be honest it felt very cheap inside.

The Impreza is always a car to consider when looking at this class of car, but do you like the new shape? For me it's ok, but for others the shape kills the car.

When it comes to the larger car like the CRV I would also be looking at the Rav4, having said that, I think the CRV is more compact than the Rav4. Costs are higher though to run.

Lexus is a really nice car and if I had the money I would consider buying one.

You have quite a few choices there. Why haven't you listed the new Accord?

I think the gizmos in the Avenger may have blinded me somewhat

I really liked the new Imprezza shape, but it'll be a sad day for the classic Scobby saloon
Running costs would indeed be huge though

CRV wasn't originally an option, but it might make it to the short list (ie, troggsed round with kids, wife hasn't seen any of them yet!), didn't really look at the RAV, as the whole 4x4 thing doesn't really do it for me

Accord - - was simply left off what I typed - it is indeed a possible
