£750 excess and then the loss of all no claims over ten years worth and 3 other veichles to insure make it a no go

I'd suggest protected NCB next time!

£750 EXCESS !!!!!!!!!!!!!! bloody hell how come if you have 10 years no claims???????

A bit late but protected no claims would have been a good idea. Good luck finding the doors

not wanting to wander off into an insurance debate (might end up splitting this thread), but:

Protected NCB is all well and good - it protects your (say) 60% discount in the event of a claim.

However, it does not stop them from raising the base price before the discount.

base price this year = £1000. 60% off = £400
claim
base price next year = £2000. 60% off = £800

its my dads policy as i'm only 20 and can't afford the £2300 quote a got, but i am the main driver on the policy which makes it £800

excess is £250 voluntary but if your under 21 theres a extra which is £500 on top
