And another one for NH Dan.........

Have you noticed any improvement in the routing with the new disks ?

Just that my setup does produce some odd results.

The above (bad) photo shows one example where the shortest route clearly isn't because the 'minimise motorways' route is considerably shorter.

Same experience when plotting a route from West London up to Malvern where it reckons the shortest route is 127 miles but in fact the shortest route is 104 miles (which TomTom used to get right).

I was interested to see that my 'new' March 08 EX had a manufacture date of 17 September 2007. Perhaps that is why the SatNav is out of date.

Do Honda hold onto the cars for a long time in Swindon?

have you changed n e clicking clutches at your place ?? i took my car into dutton forsaw in bexleyheath to have them check the clutch and they said the click is normal working sounds, which i know is ******** as it wasnt clicking for the first 2000 miles.

just need another dealer i can say changed one out due to this anoying clicking sound
Obviously without seeing the car or witnessing the said clicking I can't tell straight away but having spoken with my service manager, it is something he has experienced in the past. It's something to do with the Clutch pedal rather than any of the major components (you can tell i'm in sales not servcie!!) and lubrication of the bushes usually removes the problem. Only on a couple of occasions has he had to change or replace any parts. Feel free to give us a call and if needs be we'll take a look at it for you. Ask for Gavin in the service dept on 020 8653 1222 or 020 8771 3026.

You MAY have a 2007 MY car in which case you may also have the 2007 sat nav disks, again, you'd need to check the VIN number or with the supplying dealer.

What is a 2007 MY car? I do have the 2008 changes such as the bonnet and fuel cap openers on the side of the car.

2007 MY is the Model Year, not aware of bonnet amendments but the fuel cap change isnt a model change, the 2007 EX didnt have reverse sensors fitted as standard the 2008 does, 2007 My EX's are still available and dealer upgraded with retro fit parking sensors.

isn't there a way of telling the MY from the VIN, or am I imagining that?

Wiki is your friend. I borrowed that saying from FWH

These are Honda´s model designations.
FK1: 5 door 1.4 petrol
FK2: 5 door 1.8 petrol
FK3: 5 door 2.2 diesel
FN1: 3 door 1.8 petrol (Type S)
FN2: 3 door 2.0 petrol (Type R)
FN3: 3 door 2.2 diesel (Type S)

These codes are part of the VIN.
VIN is Vehicle Identification Number. Read more about VIN on Wikipedia.
The VIN can be found on a metal plate inside the lower part of the windshield.

For example:

SHHFK37607U000258

Is a 5 door 2.2 diesel (FK3) from Model Year 2007 (07).

SHH is Honda Swindon UK, the plant where the car is built.

Sorry!

I thought that bit was refering to the quality of some of the cars coming out of that factory!

Yep - They could change the first 2 letters of the VIN to a day of the week.

Therefore a FR car should be avoided

My Sat Nav now puts up McD's in the place where I live. Although don't forget it might still be slightly out of date because of the rate that Ronnie McDonald opens or closes some of it's places.
