Where are my goodies?

Hello All,

I got my used Type S GT a week ago,and I was looking at the official Honda site and I am supposed to be getting some kind of Honda Happiness package (i.e. recovery, various checks etc) but I never got any of this, only a receipt.

Should I be expecting this package from Honda direct, or should I go back to Arnold Clarke and ask for it?

Thanks.

The one I bought it from (Manchester) is a franchised Honda dealer so yes, I guess so.

Honda call everythig Honda Happiness it would seem. First of all by buying an 'approved' used Honda from a franchised dealer then the are meant to carry out background checks on the car. ie maki sure that the servicing is upto date and been carried out by an approved Honda Dealer, that there is no outstanding finance on the car etc. Things you would expect to be done.

I'm gussing you have got a 1 year warranty on the car? Or at least the remainder of what was on it, with this also comes your AA recovery for the remainder of that term. The number for Honda Assist (AA) is on the back of the tax disc or can be found in the handboook.

Got mine from Arnold Clark, Old Trafford on Jan 23rd, paid the money and still no sign of the Honda Happiness information, they told me it takes up to 6 weeks or so, but they did send 'Honda Happiness' fixed price parts details, TWICE, once for the new car and once for the one I traded in ?? ! They say they just register it on the system and Honda take their own sweet time.

As far as I was aware, 'Honda Hapiness' is the name given to the Fixed Price Servicing and Fixed Price Repairs (parts) They also do Honda Happiness Insurance. But you are referring to Honda Happiness Guarantee
- 12 months unlimited mileage guarantee
- Claim up to purchase price of vehicle
- No restriction on number of claims
- Option of 48 hour replacement vehicle or overnight hotel accommodation
(terms and conditions apply)

Honda Happiness Assistance
- Honda Happiness Home Assistance
- Honda Happiness Roadside Assistance
- Honda Happiness Recovery Assistance
- European cover
- Option of 72 hour replacement vehicle, overnight accommodation or public transport
(terms and conditions apply)

Honda Happiness Multipoint Inspection
- Mileage verification and certification
- Finance check and certification
- Major accident or total loss check and certification
- Missing or stolen check and certification
- Registration and Chassis Number check
- Homefile to maintain vehicle documentation and history

Can I ask something here? I'm getting mine in May on a contract hire which means it should come with all the same benefits as ones that are privately bought. So what actually do I get as a new Honda owner? Some sort of AA cover, some sort of Honda recovery? How long does the HH Assistance last for?

My car will have full maintenance included in the price, so I don't really worry about warranty as it's covered by the financer. But I'm trying to get my head around what sort of assistance I can expect on top of what I've got in my hire contract IF it breaks down or whatever.

The Honda assistance is outsourced to the AA in the UK.

Yep, Arnold Clarke in Old Trafford is where I got mine. I completely forgot to ask about it, and just spent all my time haggling and inspecting the car. Its the Honda Happiness Guarantee I'm asking about, if I do get those benefits then I should at least have a piece of paper with my name on it saying I'm entitled. If I get AA I can save money by cancelling my own personal policy.

Car dealerships are all the same, best mates when you are buying then they don't want to know you after. I'm still waiting for my mats, Sigh. I remember once a car salesman asking me "Don't you trust me", to which my flat reply was "no". For some reason he was suprised by my bluntness!

Check with your contract hire co - mine includes breakdown recovery for the full term of the contract, but that might not be typical...

Arnold Clarke in Old Trafford for me too. I paid the 500 for 5 years servicing and thought that was referred to as the 'Honda Happiness'. Obviously a different thing, reading Angie's well informed comments. But I still have had no confirmation of this other than the service managers assurances that it is all set up on their computer. I will leave it 8 weeks as they said 6 and if I have heard no more I will chase them.

Perhaps this fixed price consumables came with the 5 year service deal or maybe it was with the car in any case. Not too sure about that now

From memory, many (if not all?) owners on the servicing plan have never received any paperwork to confirm this.

Hi there, I bought my 2006 2.2 Sport on 18th Jan from Arnold Clark at Old Trafford, I paid £349 for the 2 services package and received the form to confirm this yesterday, its a blue piece of paper which has a servicing plan number on it and confirms that you can get it serviced at any Arnold Clark dealer which is good, got one round the corner from my parents house in altrincham which will make life easier!

You need it if you sell car before 5 years as it goes with car.

Hi all,
my first post here.
I've just recently bought a used '04 civic sport of the previous gen (facelift one) from the Francis Honda dealer and as a standard used car purchase package, it includes 1 yrs mechanical warranty & 1 yrs AA Gold cover.
All paper work was done and printed before I even left the dealer's forecourt. No waiting for paperwork in post.

Hi Devil welcome to the site.
I think the difference is that the paperwork we are referring to comes from Honda not the dealer.

I think what you're referring to is a black folder with various bits of paper in it such as mileage verification, HPI check and roadside assistance details, and it should come with all approved used cars. It's only really a marketing tool.

I was shown the folder when I went to pick my car up but they forgat to put it in the car. I must call them.
