Forgive me if I'm telling you something you already know, but these wipers are the new rage. I think Bosch came up with them first and now Valeo do them too. The Bosch ones are fitted as standard to a lot of new cars from Ford, Mecedes etcThey basically have pressure along the whole length of the blade as opposed to at points like the normal style ones.
The Bosch ones are callde Aerotwin, and they now have a 'retro' fit range which fit most other cars that don't have them as standard. I fitted a pair to my 2001 Ford Focus a couple of days ago and they look/work great. They cost £27 delivered from here... www.wiperblades.co.uk The benefits as laid out by Bosch can be found here... http://www.boschautoparts.co.uk/pcWipe5.asp?c=2&d=1 Morph |

What I'd like to know is if the left one (for me that's the driver's side, I assume the construction is just the other way round in the UK so it would be the one on the right) could be made just a tiny bit longer, so it would reach the top of the windscreen at the apex of its arc.
The way it works now is that it somehow doesn't wipe the top ca. 8 cm of the screen and since I prefer a high seating position, that's a bit sub-optimal. I can't really see a reason for that wiper blade not being a bit longer either, as I don't think it would interfere with the other blade during operation. Anyone else feel the same? |

On the subject of wipers, I have been amazed in this run of bad weather how many new cars have these back-to-front wipers like the Civic.
Peugeot 407s have them, as do Seat Leons and this morning I have noticed a Vauxhall Zafira with them. And I'd never seen them until I took a Civic out on a test drive! |

I'm sure if you can find a 'longer' pair of blades they will work fine. I have done this with various cars because I like to see out of my windscreen in the wet as well as the dry! Usually only an inch longer but they make a big difference. It will put extra load on your wiper motor and '4 bar' linkage but nothing to worry about. If you do find a set please post the part number / make and model(s) they are designed for. |

Did anyone find out about replacing the blade(s). I assume that you will have to change in pairs. Just got back from a 1600 mile drive and found that my drivers side blade is smearing. On closer inspection found that on the down stroke the blade is all cracked.
I am going to the dealer on Monday, noticed that the shocks are squeaking again, and will ask then. Just wondered if there was a ball park price for replacement.....or are they covered under the warrenty |
