And here. In my honest opinion I think current Audi drivers are worse than drivers of new BMW's.

Drivers of older BMW's are still the worst (IMO)

bm v civic

tend to agree with palindrome , I just p/exd my 2003 320d for my 2.2 civic. performance is similar civic tends to be less economical at 40mpg opposed to bm at 46mpg , Found bm dealers terrible , not interested once the bsale was made , at 60k bm turbo started whining , 3rd gear started slipping out and it got harder to start , decided to bail out whilst I could and trade in for the civic.
All seems ok so far , plastics not as good as bm and suspension more firm , greta internal design and well thought out v bm blandness.
Hopefully I backed the best horse , time will tell.

I must agree there, BMW realibility is overstated. And many are under the false impression on how well build and troublefree they are.

Please don't have the PCP plan, you will waste THOUSANDS in interest. Even if it means that you have to get the BM on HP. Nobody should ever take out a loan on PCP terms.

I could have on my Civic, (£9,000 finance) and the difference between HP and PCP is over £2,000 in interest over three years. Plus the HP is only £30 per month more expensive.

I reckon that the only good thing about a BMW is that it easy to spell!

Lady H. had left the landing lights on all night!"

dallev - nice write up

yes, the weird (lack of) combination choices affects us in the UK too

Interesting how many of us looked a the 1-series as an alternative to the Civic, keeps coming up!

I am sure I made the right choice.

I went for an EX without the Grand Prix pack (as you say that gets expensive), I prefer the toys inside to the exterior looks.

The lack of being able to combine options is because they are bundled into the spec levels, which I think helps keep the cost down compared to a BMW who muh more "customise" the car in the factory.
