As opposed to doing what? Guaranteeing them forever?? They as with any other rates based company reserve the right to amend their pricing at any moment. |

You will find that ALL insurance comps only g'tee the quote they provide for 3 months! This is due to the fact that they are reassessing risk all the time!

In this case however he is referring to it being weird as they didn't offer him one single quote. |

I wouldn't worry that they wouldn't insure him, I had the same issue with them, although I never had an issue with the Mini when it came to any of them Its their loss! |

So while they have sent that they could come back and say nobody will insure you, but you've still got the crap e-mail from them advising you that quotes are only valid for so long and through their site and what your log in is etc. Its Generic, the system isn't bothered if you got a quotation back or not all it sees is that you've inputted your details and you've asked them to search. |

Unfortunatley not. Its like the documents we designe at work, we are told in the design spec that they must have this blurb on the side of it 'Just incase it effect the customer' Basically the FSA makes us say it to cover our backs. 9 times out of 10 it doesn't and I get e-mails and phone calls from guys in the business area (who originally gave the go ahead) why this is there.
I would assume that this is probably the reason behind these system generated e-mails. The FSA state that they must make customers aware of things and by sending them the e-mail then they have covered their back. |

I've been looking for insurance renewal quotes, and buying through quidco has some great savings. Most of the major insurance firms (Admiral, Lloyds, AA etc) offer £70 to £100 cashback for a new policy. My best quote (for Brixton, London) is £369 with Privilege (including £100 cashback), compared to £780 on my renewl notice.

At last I've found something good about spiralling towards 40 - my insurance is a shade over 200 nicker for the year.
The best way is to add your mum. Adding your dad helps but not as much. I know someone with a type R who lopped a third of the price in the last week. It is a lucky dip however, I use the price comparison sites then phone whoever has the best deal (not always the cheapest) and ask them to save me some more cash. Never accept the renewal it will never be the cheapest option. I've had 5 insurers in 10 years. Elephant screwed me over as they gave me no claims after a company car then told me I couldn't carry it on as I had no proof??? Currently use HSBC. Good luck with your quotes and you might have some money left to fill the car up with fuel. |

WORD OF WARNING
Price comparison sites can be very useful, but always check your details. Very often you find that when you've chosen an insurer, the information that you have filled in on the comparison site magically alters when it's appears on the insurers site. |

Agreed, I had a quote through one of them when I ordered my Type-R in Aug. 07. More Than came back as the cheapest but when my wife logged on a few days later to actually buy the quote, it had miraculously gone and we were advised to phone them, when she phoned them, they said that we had supplied the wrong details, seeing as the quote had changed to something along the lines of, apparently we had owned the car for 6 years (??).....on a brand new 2007 plate eh? That takes some doing !! However we had a screenshot of the original quote and all the details we supplied were correct, although "Dave" in New Delhi insisted that we had done wrong and they were putting the quote up over £300, to almost £1100.....so they were told go find bridge, run, jump and a few more expletives that I won't mention here. Freakin rip off merchants everywhere these days. So basically, yeah....check all details you can over and then over again....also anybody you have a dealing with, ALWAYS take their name and log it with time and dates. |

It was M&S insurance that quoted me a touch under £400. only to find that they hadn't insured me to and from work, missed my 3 points off and said I parked my car in a garage over night. When I contacted them, they said it was my fault for supplying the wrong details and the quote rose to over £600. M&S should stick to selling Knickers!

try E car, they are not on the search engines like most, the search engines get a small % when you insure, taken the excess will also drop the quote
