It was on the BBC lunchtime news again on Friday.
Young drivers using Parents, as main drivers. They are REALLY clamping down and turning down claims. They are driving without Insurance says the "Old Bill". |

Tesco Compare
Have you tried the web site listed on the attached thread for comparisons ?? It's well worth looking at it. |

My tip would be to get your Mum or Dad on an insurance that gets named drivers their no claims bonuses, (you paying towards it obviously ), then when you are older get your own insurance. |

I've just tried Gocompare, moneysupermaket and Tescocompare.
The first two came up with £176.15 for me in Millie, (via Liverpool Victoria, which shows a Civic on its TV add!) and Tescocompare came up with £197.76. Shop around. It's your money they're after! "The less one has to do. The less time one seems to have to do it in!" |

22 1 yr no claim 2 yr experience
Norwich Union Direct - £860 I couldn't get anyone cheaper than Tesco on my first yr with on 05 Fiesta (1.4 £2,500) I don't think you will find better, I couldn't. Also try having your mum/dad on your quote (mum prob best) (2nd infrequent driver), if they have a good record (no crashes/ points) it might make your quote ALOT cheaper!! got my dad on mine and even though he has 3 points it took £200 off the orininal quote!! yes it was £1,050 before!! (this yrs ins btw) |

Elephant or Admiral have generally worked out cheapest for me, although I didn't bother with a car at uni, so I avoided insurance between 19 and 23, which helped a bit on the cost (despite not having driven in the intervening years!).
