Tangerine

I've been scouring the roads for that Tangerine Space Ship.

Just spotted one in Bromley.

'twas a bit grubby, but I just didn't like it.

It wasn't adventuous enough in tone like the Focus Orange, and it seemed to be just too bold a colour for the Space Ship.

I'll stick with Milano!

That's the best thing about it - it doesn't look like a piece of candy like the Ford. I think it's just bold enough.

I would go for orange if fully colour coded... just not keen on the way the plastic trim contrasts with any of the colours other than NHB or Cosmic Grey...

Actually, I thought the black trim contrasts well with the orange. It's a natural combination, orange and black!

If it were real black then I might agree but it always looks like dark grey to me...

Now you say black but my surrounding trim and mudflaps are grey and so are all the ones I've seen so far ?

Anyway, I think that the resale values might be black if you got that colour!

I wouldn't call ASBO orange adventurous but then again, I wouldnt buy a Tangerine Civic either. I'd happily run a demonstrator in tangerine as I can always give it back at the end rather than being responsible for the residuals....

My case exactly. I'm contracting mine and I don't give a toss what it's worth in 2011! If I was buying, as much as I like the colour I would think twice about it.

I have just joined as I am presently considering a Civic as my replacement company car. Looking at the 2.2 diesel Type S but will probably have to push the boat out and get a GT so that I can get cruise control (otherwise I will loose my license!).

Anyway, more or less made my mind up now that this is the car I want. I was thinking perhaps red but more likely vivid blue. After the test drive this morning the salesman confirmed that VB is no longer available . They did however have a tangerine GT sitting but it had anthracite coloured wheels (not sure what size). Well it has left me in a real dilemma as I too thought it may have been similar to the focus colour but it is just subtle enough and I thought the smoke grey wheels really matched the grey trim very well which is a great contrast to the orange. As it will be a company car, I don't need to worry about residuals .

Still not sure but will think it over over the weekend.

Cheers

Stewart

P.S.
Great forum, seems very friendly

2.2 Diesel Type S GT. Couldn't stretch to the 18" blades at £850 but did see one with silver wheels yesterday and it looked nearly as good

Only sent the order form to the leasing company today so no idea how long it will take. Hopefully I wont wimp out of the colour choice when I am asked to confirm.

The demo car yesterday was quite dirty but still looked fine unlike NHB which looks dirty 2 mins after washing and polishing it in the winter.

Cheers

I quite like the tangerine colour. I saw one at a dealers, and recently another in a village just south of Cambridge.
I'm hoping I might get the dealers one as a loan car when mine goes in for a bit of work at the end of the month, if I was a betting man Id expect a Jazz!

Hey,

I must admit to quite liking the Tangerine on the Civic's, my partner doesn't and if I do end up purchasing a Civic I would be driving alone in it if it was a Tangerine one.

Mind you I'm probably a little more swayed to this lairy colour as I currently drive a Pug 307 in Paprika (burnt orange) which isn't a million miles away from the Tango.

Add black/tinted windows and it will look awesome I think, but then again I have been called a "tart" before.

the tangerine looks cool with the wheel arches and side sills colour coded.but looks extra nice with the black grand prix spoilers fitted and the black wheels.

Well, after a wait of more than 3 months the Car Stork safely landed my new spaceship at my door.

I got it last Monday and was a bit disappointed that the dealer had not cleaned it very well. As I am on holiday this week I decided to give it a rub over with an oily rag

The first night's drive home, I returned 54 mpg. Needless to say that has never been repeated as the torque is pretty addictive. . Still getting about 45/46 but could easily see how that could be an awful lot less!

Can't believe how quiet and comfortable it is. The suspension is fairly firm, but I like that and got used to it quickly. Build quality is not fantastic for a car costing this much, but still nothing has fallen off or out.

As far as the colour goes, I love it and it is so cool to have the only one (that I have seen). It does seem to be a bit of a marmite thing though. Some folks like it others hate it

Anyway, here are the pics

I think these pics are a fairly good representation of the colour. It really pops in bright sunlight and looks a wee bit bronze when it is cloudier.

So to does the other half now, I took the plunge and brought what I wanted and now she's glad I did as it's so different and in the sunshine really comes alive!
