Friday

So a call out of the Blue means I can now have my car on friday, quite a come down from end of April.

Can someone refresh me as to what to look out for on the VIN number to make sure this is an 08 model and not an 07 model thats been hanging around.

Also just realised that i'll be losing out on almosts a months tax! but maybe this is a good thing as next year I can tax it in time before it rises.

Do'h! thanks.

Knew I should have looked there as I've only just read it for the new car check list.

As it new your dealer will more than likely provide road tax forr1 year and 4 days as they state 1 years road fund license. I got 1 year and 7 days with mine, so hopefully the tax will expire 30/04/09

You also dont have a huge hike in road tax on that model, make it sound like you've bought a type r lol

I'll have to ask them about that, thanks.

A tax rise is still a rise!

Just renewed my car tax, I had not realise it had gone up by £5 in the Budget, so another £5 had to be added to the cheque for £115.
I guess it is always going to be a problem with the tax due in April, perhaps if i had been smart I could have got it before the Budget...but you cannot buy earlier than 15 days before the end of the month.

Nice to hear you are getting it sooner than expected

I'm also getting an ES in Royal Blue but It's sort of the oposite for me. I ordered the car a couple of weeks ago and had a call yesterday saying the car would be ready next week but I had to tell them I don't want to collect it until April 18th as I'm off on Holiday on the 9th of April.

I really didn't want to leave the car outside my house (I don't have a garage or a driveway) for a week when I had only had it for a week, It would have ruined my holiday as I'd constantly be thinking about the car! At least this way I have something to look forward to when I get back

It's here, it's here!

And I couldn't be more pleased! I'm glad I had the Sedici alloys they suit the colour. The Leather is fantastic along with the glass roof.

The hand over only last about half an hour but I was taken through all the buttons. The car was taxed for 12 months and 1 week so a bonus, they gave me all the paperwork for the GAP and Happiness, just got to wait for the V5.

Little disappointed that they had taken it to the petrol station to fill it up and had splashes of mud on it.

P.S no feebies but I did find an Earwig crawling around in the ashtray, maybe that was it.
