Question Type R Finance deals

Hi,

I've been looking to trade my Subaru Impreza RB5 and spotted Honda are doing some PCP deals on the Type R's.

I'll be sad to see mine go as I've had it since new and it's never let me down. It's been the best car I've ever owned and will take some beating.
Anyway I'll stop rambling on and get to the point.

Do Dealers typically stick to the full retail price on new cars under some sort of finance offer?

At the end of the day it's just like any finance deal, but I'd like a heads-up to see just how much prodding I'll need to do when I walk into my dealer.

Stefan

Ask the question as it always down to the dealer as to what they do. It also depends on whether there are any vehicles available that meet your requirements......

Thanks.

I wasn't sure if it was the Dealers choice or not. Didn't want them saying "well, our hands are tied ... you can only get that rate with the full price..."

Think of the two components seperately.

Car price then Finance.

The price for the Car should not affect the finance package you get.

This is changed slightly when the dealer / manufacturer have a 'Customer Deposit Contribution' like Toyota have done in the past where if you take the finance they will give you £*** towards your deposit.

Personally I would negotiate on the price of the car. The negotiate the cost of the finance. After all you can always go get a Bank loan over 4 years at a flying rate instead of doing a 3 year PCP deal.

Whichever works out the cheapest in the long run ?!?

They could always say that but then again, you could always go elsewhere!!!

As Krysten says, you have some varialbles here and i'll add another;

1) Price of CTR - negotiate that.

2) Finance - the 7.9% APR rate PCP is fixed, no changing can be done.

3) Your part exchange price. - could vary greatly between dealerships and if you've negotiated a blinding price on the CTR you may not get such a great price for the subaru.

As Dan says, as you are part exchanging, it will come down what it costs you to swap, not really the price you negotiate on the Civic.

I expected the rate to be fixed, so looks like a bit of haggling is in order.

Cheers guys.
