£13,500 Type S

I had the same problem a 6 weeks back. Didn't think I had any chance of a type s for that money.

I managed to get a 9 month old Type S 2.2 cdti with 4,000 miles from a Honda Dealer. This at the time was the cheapest of that model in the UK (searched on Hondas used database).

Have to say I am delighted with my purchase.

My old man used to work for the MOD at Rheindahlen and got a BMW 120d sport for £18K, UK list was about £23K then just before he retired he got a Honda 2.2 CDTI CRV for about £14K. Either way a hell of a lot cheaper than UK prices, i think it may of been through NAAFI but not 100% He picked them both up from UK importers, Kent way I think. I thought it was only BFG personnel who could get Tax free cars.

Although a guy I used to work with at Colt on the mighty Jag's was posted in from Cyprus and he had brought a Mini Cooper out there, which he shipped back, and only payed about £9K new, not sure if that was tax free or just the price they went for in Cyprus. Just ask if they do Tax free cars in the NAAFI at Akrotiri.

I can't afford one till I come back to the UK, even a tax free one. I'm gonna go for a 1 or two year old 2.2 I-CDTI Type S when I come home, that way it'll be cheaper than a new one even with the tax off. I'll just do a search of the Honda database, I really want to get it from the Honda dealership as i've had too many bad experiences buying private and from "used car sales" places in the past.

I just bought an 18 month old 5dr es 2.2 cdti for £13500 from Honda dealer so don't think you'll have that much trouble sourcing one.
