First Year Service

Just had the car serviced. We have only had the car 2 weeks but it was due its first service so I took it along to Maidenhead Honda.

I mentioned that it had some o/s recalls and that people struggled to hear me whilst using the bluetooth phone system.

The car was serviced in under 90 mins and the bill was £150 which all seemed good. They also did 2 recalls (handbrake and internal door catch on the drivers door - supposed to get stuck).

In addition they fitted the foam behind the microphone which seems to have improved the volume on the phone but maybe not as good as someone else on this forum who said they could whisper - I still have to talk loudly

On the screen it looked like £120 went off to warranty for those two fixes.

All in all, it seemd like a good experience and I will use them again.

Only question I had is that the handbrake lever now has an amount of slack / travel before the ratchet starts which seems odd. I called them to check and they say its normal. So for you guys who have had the handbrake mod - do you have this same feature ?

cheers

Seems Honda are fitting handbrakes that point towards the sky! What a joke....no consideration given to the people who actually drive the cars. I really think that the dealers should be adjusting them when fitting. If I get the mod and its like that, i'll adjust it myself!

Just to finish this story ....I wasn't convinced the handbrake was right. I almost got caught out on Friday when stopped at traffic lights on a hill. Because of the slack I didn't pull it up high enough and it rolled backwards ......so I took it back to Honda this morning. I quickly jumped in the showroom car and the handbarke in that car had no slack at all so I knew my 3 inches of slack was not right. They took it back in and 30 mins later I now have no slack at all, much better -why they didn't do that in the fisrt place , who knows.

Other than the mistake with the handbrake, I would say the people down at Maidenhead Honda seem to care and provide a curteous service.
