Trident Honda Ottershaw

Slightly grumpy today after having put the car in for it's 25000 mile service at Trident Honda Ottershaw...

The service has made a really noticeable difference to the performance and smoothness of the engine and I've had the handbrake modification - don't like it now as it has a really short and notchy action whereas it was longer and smoother before (sounds like I'm on the wrong forum there for a moment). The clonking suspension needs a new damper, which they've sent away for and I've got the front brake pads changed. Quite surprised to find that my new-ish Goodyear GSD3s (?) which i put on a few months ago only have 5mm tread left but the backs have 6mm tread on and they came with the car (Michelin Pilots)... The service manager failed to spot the corrosion on the alloys mistaking my complaint/claim for kerbing so it'll have to go back again for that.

The reason for aforementioned grumpiness is £460 seems a lot for a service and brake pads and although they cleaned the carpets (not the boot) and washed it, they didn't clean the interior plastics at all to the extent that there were cobwebs on the dash and accross the rear screen? Am I being picky, but when I had my godawful Scenic, at least the dealer gave the car a proper valet and even returned the drivers' seat to the same position...

In summary - meh.... Probably better (and cheaper) dealers out there

Oh yes, I was the youngest person by about 30 years in the line dropping my car off for service this morning (and I'm nearly 40); don't need approving nods over my choice of car from men old enough to be my dad...

£460 seems a lot of money for a service. when i had my first service, they washed and cleaned the carpets too, but like you said, not that dash... my car is due in for its 2nd service in august..not looking forward to that...hope its not gonna cost that much...cos i cant afford that much!!

The first service was pretty reasonable I think but this was the 25,000 or second service...

Still expensive though

I also used Ottershaw, but mine was for the first service and the cost was average.

Before I left I asked the price of the 2nd service and they said £199 (which I have posted in the wiki) so the additional must be all the additional work like pads ?

£460 must have been a gobsmacker though and I hope they phoned and asked permission to carry out the additional work.

Makes the HH deal sound even more attractive.
