Southend Dealer Has The Worst Customer Service

Customer service or lack of it is something that annoys me most.

I dont know if I am allowed to name the dealership in question but I live near Southend and I bought locally.

I won't bore people with the specifics but I have a few issues with the purchase and condition of my 57 plate EX that I picked up a few weeks back.

Iniatially raised a couple of issues to sales manager and he said as the vehicle was used they would not do anything. Unhappy with his complete lack of interest I have complained to Honda and to the dealers head office. I have supplied the sales manager with copies of the complaint and asked for his comments.

What annoys me most is the fact that he cant even be ar**d to pick up the phone to acknowledge my communications at all. One of the thing I have questiond is if the paint protection system that I paid for was actually applied as the promised results are just not there, still no answer.

No doubt they think I am totally unreasonable and a complete ****** but it doesnt mean I am not entitled to a little customer service.

They are actually in breach of contract to me as they have not done what was verbally promised by the salesman.

Anyway, I needed to vent, shame because I had always had good service from the Service department, it's just the sale team that I have great issue with.

So if your planning on buying from the Southend dealer, don't, travel further!

I take it its Inchcape Honda in Southend. I use their branch in Writtle and find them extremely helpful. Its due to their politeness and courtesy that I have another Civic on order. Its amazing how two garages owned by the same company can be so different.

Hope you get your problems sorted soon.

Yes thats the one

When I bought my previous car, a CR-V it came from their Colchester dealership because Southend never bothered to phone me back, I should have learnt my lesson. The Colchester branch was superb, although I didnt have a single problem with the CR-V, the sales dept went out of their way to help me.

The annoying thing is that the Civic came from the Witham branch, I should have gone direct to them by the sound of it.

You can list the dealer here:

Dealership feedback - Civinfo Wiki

Sorry to hear that they are not treating you well. Seems like you have to keep pushing these issues to get anywhere.

Good luck

Hi Andy. I also bought my car from the same dealership as you and all I can do is agree with you 100%. Even after I spoke to the new manager there, he apologised and said he'd call me back. Guess what?

Looks like they are going to proove me wrong, i am sure it had nothing to do with me slagging them off one here that I receive a phone call 3 hours later

Anyway, they are going to address my issues, fingers crossed!

Bought mine in Cardiff (Awesome dealership) but live near Birmingham now so got mine serviced near here in Solihull. They were excellent too, did all the warranty stuff without any quibbles whilst on a routine service. Shop around I say and use the link to find a decent dealer, they are out there.

I know what the problem is, and had the same with my dealer..... so I recorded all conversations and phone calls...... guess what when I rang back, the manager had left and no one knew anything about my problems.......so I asked for their email, and when asked why I said so I can sned you a compressed wav file of every conversation we had....guess what the computer found me quickly enough then

Buy a dictaphone, they're like 20 quid from argos for a digital one, and they are very very handy.

My Dad does the dictaphone thing, has helped him out many times.

Hopefully things will now get sorted, I am happy to find some middle ground and this mornings phone call seems to indicate that things will now be done.

Just wish I didnt have to stamp my feet to get things done!

I found them to be pretty poor, so I now use JP in Braintree, they're much better IMO.

The Writtle branch tried to rip me off my supplying oil that was not recommended for my vehicle after I questioned the price of a service compared to another dealer which was about £45 less. The manager informed me that the oil which they supply is "better that what Honda recommend" After a call to Honda UK, they told me that they should ONLY use the oil which is in the servicing guide.

Needless to say, I did not have my car serviced there. It seems to me that there is not much to choose from any of them. Once they have your money, they have little interest in you.

I have a customer facing job and I do NOT treat my customers in that manner. When I say I will call them back, thats just what I do. My customers keep me employed, without them I don't have a job.
