Which colour?
Which colour and why please
Quotes gone in to the head honcho (Gen Manager) at work for a 2.2 EX. I have my fingers and toes well and truly crossed. Two key issues here. After reading a number of posts regards scratches/stone chips (so easily) and the fact I'm not sure about the plastic trim, that runs around the whole perifory of the car, (so do I go for contrast, or something that blends in?) So...........what is the best colour being practical, taking into consideration scratches/chips and trim please? Shouldn't be too hard to decide, cos the choice of colours in my opinion is woefully short. Any advice will be graciously accepted! |

NHB.
Because it rocks and goes well with the grey trim and also glass roof if you are getting it. Yes it chips, but no more than the other colours. |

Everyone knows black is the coolest colour on the planet The grey/black plastic trim will blend in nicely and nothing looks better after a clean and polish than a black car. Especially NHB with its cool blue metallic flecks No contest really |

All of the colours are nice, but.......
Champagne is fairly exclusive, and seems to look different depending on the light, sometimes quite silvery, sometimes with a hint of green, and the grey wheel arch trim contrasts nicely. It does not show the dirt too badly. When polishing/waxing stonechips are not highlighted in the same way as with NHB! Terry. |

My opinions:
Black / Bronze: Looks good with painted trims, but with plastic trims makes the plastic look a bit grey and cheap. Red: Looks much better than you think it should, and compliments the plastic nicely. Galaxy: an odd colour, that I don't like on a grey day. Silver: To me, a bit bland. Cosmic: Smart, but a bit dull. Hides the dirt, and the plastic. (Discon) Vivid: Great wild colour. (Discon) Royal: Smart. But plastic can look cheap (like black). Champagne / Blueish: Too wishy washy for me. Orange: Like red, looks much better than you'd think. Wild, and smart. Thanks for the replies.
I like the Milano and think it would touch up better than metallic/pearl. However, I'm not sure about the trim. NHB looks great and I don't think the trim looks out of place, but not too sure how that will touch up. Also, will NHB show the scrathes/chips more easily than the lighter colours? As a colour, I like the dark blue (pensioners colour as someone called it Silver probably fits both categories, but I've had the 407 for 4 years and that is silver, so looking for a change. Not sure about the champagne, Shame about the vivid blue, as that interested me. Bluish Silver would probably be a halfway house and be ok for touching up and disguise scrathes and the trim doesn't look like an afterthought. Can't work the Tangerine out, but if it's right about the long lead time, I wont even consider it. So despite all your posts, my indecision is telling me I don't know what to do! So that means................................... .........................the wife will probably pick the colour! Which also means she'll go for the one that matches her favourite dress! |

Never had a black car before and 8 months on still happy with mine as the day I bought it.
My opinion is the plastic trim blends well with black-red seems to clash a little with it,although that colour looks good with the car's plastics painted to match. As already pointed out, when polished, the metallic blue flecks in the NHB really contribute to give the car a startling appearance in the sunlight. |
