Honda Watch
Has anyone ever seen a Honda watch?
Last November, when I placed the order for my Civic company car, I was offered a 'Honda Watch' if I nominated a certain dealer to supply the car. To protect the identity of the dealer, let's just call them vealnovA Hando, Soilhull. The car arrived in December, and months went on with emails from the dealer saying 'give me until next week', 'should be here soon', etc, then my emails were just ignored. A month ago, I reported the issue to Honda Customer Care, who said they had sorted it with the dealer - but still no watch. OK, I'm only haggling over a freebie watch, but I find it disgusting that a salesman offers something to get a £19k order then reneges on the deal. Do Honda watches exist? Clive |

When I purchased an Accord I demonstrated it to my friend who asked me to accompany him when he had a test drive in a Tourer.
I didn't just accompany him, I actually drove the demonstrator and then sat beside him whilst he drove and explained all the 'bits n bobs'. When we returned to the dealers I was promised a case of wine for my trouble and getting them an order. Well, that was around 4 years or so ago and, despite me giving them a reminder, I never did see that wine!! They do, however, have a couple of Honda watches that seem to have been there for years. Don't think you're missing much. |

Just heard back from Honda Customer Care. The salesman concerned is 'no longer with Honda', so I'll have to wait and see what his replacement says.
Not holding my breath, but also not going to let this go as it's a matter of principle now. If they can't get a watch I'll grudgingly accept two VIP passes to the British Grand Prix (as long as I'm not expected to have lunch with Jenson Button). |

Finally!!! 6 months and 1 day after collecting the Civic. The original salesman was a total neWark who had no intention of honouring the deal, and fobbed me (plus others, apparently) off. I guess he was sacked. The official line is 'he doesn't work for Honda any more'. All credit to the Sales Manager for picking up the pieces and resolving the issue within a week of me calling him. That SI a nice watch (enigma if you will).
To that dealers credit I didn't buy by car off them but as they are near me now I used them for service and they were very good. The service manager was spot on and I will use them again. (However i made darn sure my CIVINFO sticker was clearly visable when I dropped it off!!) |
