hide in a dark room rocking to and fro, mumbling obscenities to yourself and hurling abuse to anyone who disturbs you. then, when your brain gets completely scrambled (usually after a few hours) try and count either tiles on the floor/roof or cracks in the wall and every time you get to 15 yell "i'm a big boy I want my toy".
after this strange behaviour your loved ones are sure to give the local authorities a friendly phone call, then you will be presented with 3 men in white coats and two police officers at your door. DO NOT RESIST THEM!! it will only hurt later on when your adrenaline rush wears off and you see all the bruises that resulted from your struggle. they will no doubt sedate you with nothing far from RHINO tranquilisers. if by the time you wake up it's not time to pick up your new car then start licking anything that is close to your face... doctors included, they especially thrive from this sort of thing. you will be placed in a padded room and put to sleep for a long time. when you wake up it should be 7 days later and you'll probably never need to sleep again due to all the drugs pumping through your veins. your car will be waiting for you, and if you didn't take the "pretending to be mad" too far, the DVLA may just let you drive it... |

This made me laugh as it rather sums up the waiting time perfectly! |

I don't even have my spaceship yet. I don't have 7 days to wait, I have 5 months!
I plan on killing off my brain cells with hours of Call of Duty 4 on XBOX Live. then I won't be able to recognize that time actually exists, before you know it November will be here. |

I had to wait from August to December so I have an idea what you are going through. Being on here does help though - really |

Thanks guys!
Well, I guess 7 days left to wait is not so long. The whole process will have taken less than 3 weeks. 2 weeks wait for the car to come to the dealers and then a few days for them to install the engine heater and inside heater (it gets cold here in the winter, -30C usually in my area, so we need to warm our cars up for an hour before getting in), colour coded door protectors & reversing sensors, and pre delivery check. Could not imagine waiting 5 months for delivery! I would go as mad as ChrisB! |

I 'only' had to wait 3 weeks for mine - couldnt imagine waiting 5 months or rather I know I couldnt wait that long. Originally wanted EX in tango but would have been september so got blueish silver instead - much to the relief of mr lippy!

3 hours
Pick my new EX up in three hours - doesn't time go slowly when you are waiting! If I'm not careful I might have to do some work to fill the time

surf eBay for just about every accessory for your new wheels. Think custom key fobs, custom tax holders (you can get some good engraved ones on there with "civic"). That should pass 20 mins or so!
Then go to Halfords and buy all the cleaning accessories, plus a buffing cloth is useful for the head up display around as it always gets greasy. That should take a little more time. If it gets too much maybe you should genetically freeze yourself for a week? |
