Is this a good deal???

Hi all, still pondering over swapping my 2.2 for a type R?
My local dealer has offered me £10750 for a 2006 2.2 sport with 11000miles on the clock.
The CTR they have for sale is a NHB CTR GT with rage wheels, ipod adapter, and front and rear spoilers(image pack?), '57' 2007, 1500miles, all for £17950, is that good, bad , about right or just damn crappy???

Dealer has told me £7200 + part ex will secure the deal?? Tried for over an hour to push for more but they will not budge!!!!
I have been to other not so local dealers and they are offering less for my trade in.............oh what to do.

Opinions please?

Regards Pumatron.

Rages are ( or were when I bought mine ) a £950 option, Ipod connector about £100 and splitters, front and rear are around £650 - £800, so around the £20k mark. I would say not a bad price at that mileage.

The thing is do you want a CTR enough to fork out over £7k, I don't really know what your's is worth, if you do then go for it. You'll certainly have some fun.

I would say thats a good deal. Jack's 3 month old CTR is up for sale at 18k, was 19k new, is the GT model with just over 2000 miles on the clock......if it was me I would go for it, but then it depends on if you do the miles to justify a diesel if so I would keep it and maye opt for the remap at some stage.

Bassets Honda have the GT with Sat Nav and Rage alloys in milano brand new for 19,995 so I would still say cracking deal on the NHB one

OK - just written off my 2006 CDTi in Milano. Good relationship with my dealer and he told he at 18k miles and 20 months oll the p/x should be £11,800 subject to deal etc etc.

Looked on Parkers - on line try it - and they suggested - £11,900.

Discussed write off value with insures on back of rear sensores, 18" alloys abd rear spoilers and they offered £12.5K .... and accepted

Your dealer is way off mark - shop around .....

To expand - my CTR Milano - excelent from a dealer with rear sensors - April 07 was £16,500 listed, but became £15,300 with heavy negotiation but given I had no p/ex I guess your deal was sound.

Not to be recommended but if you have a right off and a good insurance valuation you win both ways - no p/ex and a cash deal .....

Around my area of Kent values of diesel civics appear to be lower than average, this is I believe due to pre reg etc. I have found many civics at dealers with low miles on 57/08 plates at 12500-13000 to 14000 depending on spec, this is why I am struggling to achieve a 'good' price on my current civic.
Still it could be worse, I could still have my Mazda RX8, the bottom as fallen out of the market on these cars due to tax and fuel costs. I had a look on the forum I used to use, there was an ex-owner who had traded a 15month old PZ model with 6600 miles on the clock. He paid £26000 for it 15months ago, and traded it for......ready.....sit down, trust me..........£11500 ouch.

Well funny you should ask, but had abit of a sign from above, looked out of the window this evening and parked opposite my house was the identical CTR to the one at the dealers, wheels and all.....the misses had to dry the carpet and window sill from all the drooling and dribbling..........
I must say it is tempting, I have the money ready, the insurance company have the quote(valid for 90 days).
We are going to go and look at it again on Saturday, it's all ready to drive away, just have to phone insurance and pay.
Who know's.......i am edging towards a purchase though

You might as well go and do the deal, sounds like you're smitten already.

Hooray!!! You got it or so it would seem by the avater at the side which has suddenly become a NHB Type R. I think you better change your sig too, cause the Type R don't run on diesel
