Thumbs up First experience of Honda Service

I've just had my Civic serviced for the first time today.

Very impressed with Lookers Honda, Derby.
Car collected from my house at 09:30, delivered back at 15:00, and CLEANER than it's ever been before. Even the alloys have been cleaned.

In the last 8 years, I've had 20 services with Nissan and Ford. Neither would collect, and both only managed to hose the car down once.

My Honda odyssey just gets better and better.

As a side. No idea how large the windscreen washer bottle is, but this is the first car I've ever had where I've not managed to empty it between services. Assuming they've topped it up, I may be able to last 4 years without opening the bonnet! - woohoo!

So you don't check your oil or coolant levels then?

Possibly a foolish thing to say, but aren't there warning lights on the dash for that?

Apparently there is!! Best to check them yourself though regularly.

You should check fluids (e.g. engine oil) regularly.

When the light comes on it is VERY low.
...and if the sensor / light is faulty?

There is no oil level monitering system. There is a low oil level warning which will appear on your display. This is to tell you the level has dropped below the min and the car should be stopped where safe, check level /leaks/damage etc,and assuming level still showing on stick, the car can be safely driven, avoiding high engine speeds to the nearest garage etc for topping up.(best read the handbook for exact explanations)

I suppose its a bit like a final reminder to pay a gas bill, but you would never normally want to find yourself there.

well I am glad to hear you are happy with your Honda dealer, it seems to be a rare thing sadly.

I would take notice of what these guys are telling you and check your levels a little more often than you are used to - it might save you a nasty bill.

I bought my car from lookers at derby too and was happy with the deal and the salesperson. I'm glad you had a good experience with them - that atleast gives me confidence for a years time!

Also reading this thread has reminded me when i was filling with diesel for the first time and so busy making sure to pick the right pump nozzle that i forgot to check oil levels! So two good things in one thread - nice

I have just bought my CTDi EX from Lookers Liverpool and they were very good. Good deal and nice people to deal with.
