Another civic buyer

Hi happy civic drivers!
I an new to this forum. I am from Serbia and i hope to get some advice on buying my civic .
After hours of price researching i unfortunately found out that i dont have enough money to buy a new 5D 2.2 sport but i could stretch a bit and purchase a new 5D 1.8 sport. Here price of new 1.8 is 18.800£ and for 2.2 diesel i have to pay 22100£! So if i am to buy a 2.2 that is definitly going to be used car. I have allready read all the posts on "1.8 petrol or 2.2 diesel" discussion and still not found out which is more suitable to me. So this info might come handy for your advices.
I am doing some 10000 km a year, never over that which is abouth 6000 miles. I am driving only in city, ocasionaly go to the city next to my which is some 80 miles away( what can i do since we are so small county ). But on the other hand i Really love speed and acceleration ( who doesnt ), so that makes my thoughts go with 2.2 torque .
Price of petrol in my county is almost reched a record of 1,6£ per liter so that is also the reason why i am still deciding which one. My taxes and registraton for 1.8 should be aprox 240£ and for 2.2 should be mutch more, abouth 370£ a year. So should i go with cheaper, easy and smooth 1.8 or torquer and much more expensive 2.2d? Really how much cheaper is driving a 1.8? Is 2.2 much faster and has much better acceleration?
Can you PLEASE help me decide which one? (sorry if i made many spelling and gramm. mistakes )

Hi Salezio.
I think the the most important question is , how much 1 liter petrol and how much 1 liter diesel oil in your country ? In my country a the diesel oil is more expensive than the petrol . The different in 1.8 sport petrol and 2.2 sport diesel is about 1.000.000 HUF ~ 4045 Euro. The diesel has more service cost. I drive ~ 12-15.000 KM / year. In my case the 1.8 petrol was the good choice.

I have my 2nd civic almost 8th months now and have made so far 10000km and on 1st one I had about 12000km and it was old only 6 months.....personally I'm not big fan of diesels and since diesel price is going every day higher the petrol is so far best choice and with your mileage....diesel is bit faster and if you chip it it could have 170-180KS which is great and you can't get that kind of HP on 1.8 petrol without spending lots of money.....

I'm very satisfied with my civic and his fuel consumption is quite good.....I drive in city most of time and consumption is about 9.1-10.5l where is traffic jams normal but when it's jam that stops and goes every few minutes it's about 11-13l.....

it's very hard decision
