I am on my second civic.
My first civic was an ex demo 1.8 Sport, and although there was nothing 'wrong' with it apart from the recalls, I part ex'd it for a brand new 08 1.8 EX. And there is a difference between the two - the ride is better, the doors (both back passenger) open easily, and all shut better, no clunking reversing off my drive. My hubbie says he thinks the new car is miles better and the differences reminded him of the old 'friday' car and a, say, 'wednesday' car - the whole thing fits together so much better.... I tried a couple of dealers (not the same group) for a part ex price, and, interestingly, they both gave me the same part ex price against a new car. As for i-shift - can't comment - prefer a clutch - I dont like automatics - even semi auto - nothing wrong with them, I just don't like them!! So, go for it on a part ex on a new/newer civic! |

I got the car in the end! I need to double check a couple of chips have been sorted (currently VERY poorly filled in with a touch up pen) but I got matts and a free service. Pretty chuffed!

Great news.
I hope you love your i-Shift as I love mine....give yourself some time to get aquainted and you will never go back to a standard gear change. |

Thanks guys, just got to spend £250 doing it up now!! (speakers, parrot, rear parking sensors!)
The i-Shift still feels a bit weird to me, mainly when it changed as I was coming off a roundabout. But hopefully I'll get to love it! |

Well I've got it. Only done about 50 miles in it so far, but MUCH nicer than the 1.4 esp around 40-60mph and my average MPG has gone up by around 18 - which is nice!
